10 Points to Netherlands 25. Mai 2013 · by Sara Bonetti · in Allgemein, RaRo The Netherlands,  a European country famous for bridges, a good football team, flowers, windmills and wooden clogs. Ever heard about Guides and Scouts in the Netherlands? No? Time to find out more about in the interview with Lisa, scout and member of the PLANET’13 staff. Hey Lisa. Hello. Where are you from exactly and which group is your “home” group? Our Group is called ‘De Biezenhutters’. We are from Oosterwolde, that’s a small village in the North of the Netherlands. It has about 10.000 inhabitants. What is your current position in the your Guide/Scout group? I’m a Rover Scout. The age of our Rover troup is located between 18 and 24. That’s the reason why the leadership of an adult is not absolutley necessary. We are self organized and so we do everything ourselves. My job is to be a kind of a secretary, organizing and so on,  and to attend group meetings. What will your position be at the PLANET’13? I’ll be a Rover Scout, just like everyone else What are the differences between Guiding/Scouting in The Netherlands and Guiding/Scouting in other countries? Well, I can’t speak for all the Dutch groups, but ours is very relaxed. We are Scouts because we love Scouting for the fun, being together, doing crazy stuff. I’ve been to other groups in different countries, and those seem to have a lot of rules, strict schedules, they were very serious about Scouting. My group likes to do ‘real Scouting things’, we can be really serious. But when we have meetings or camps, we prefer the fun and crazy stuff . Where has the idea to join the PLANET’13 its origin? We went to the a Jamboree in Denmark ‘Spejdernes Lejr’ last year, and there my friend and I met this awesome group from Wels. They invited us for the PLANET’13. So the idea become a plan and the plan will become reality. How are you (and your group) preparing for the PLANET ’13? Buying lots of ‘Hagelslag’ What are your expectations for PLANET’13? It is going to be great, I just know it! Are there any fears? Bad weather and rain. I mean, we live in The Netherlands, it rains all the time. What I really want to say………….. We love meeting new people, so we’ll see you there! It’s great to be a Guide/Scout because,…….. Scouts are a different kind of people, it sound cliché but everyone is kind and open, for new people, for new idea’s, we accept a person for who he or she is. I’m really proud of being a part of that. without Guiding/Scouting……… I would have missed so many great things and great people in my life Thank you so much for the interview, looking forward to meet you in summer.
